Mama, if you were here today, would I have been the person that I am today?
Would resiliency still be my trademark and would I be this driven to work this hard?
To show you the things that I strived to accomplish?
To make you proud, see mama… I am a college graduate now.
This seed that I have been blessed with, would you have shuned him mama? or would you have loved him the way you loved me to infinity?
Though at times I needed your shelter, your absence was motivation to prepare for my future.
Thank you mom, for loving me unconditionally, for raising me in a way that allowed me to survive in this mean world.
Thank you Lord for carrying me through these trying times and your continual blessings in my life.

Reality sets in. Water starts flowing. The bottle is open. She starts drinking. Her wrists are bleeding. The crowd is singing, when the roll is call up yonder. In a daze. She’s awaken. On her knees. The Bible’s Open. Words are spoken. She’s been redeemed.
When your reality set in which way would you choose?
